The Bartsch family has been providing laundry services since 1959. Now in our 3rd generation of family leadership, Ecotex is a multi-generational family enterprise. As a well-established company, we are focused on creating and maintaining productive long-term partnerships with large healthcare customers.

Our team of 1,500 employees supply North American hospitals with over 1 million pieces of hygienically clean healthcare linen every day. We offer a comprehensive range of patient apparel, bedding, PPE, scrubs, surgical linen, and related product distribution. In addition to healthcare laundering services, we also offer site-based services where Ecotex staff work at hospitals to provide linen management and linen distribution services.

Our large regional laundry facilities use the most environmentally friendly practices, making use of environmentally friendly detergents, along with large scale energy and water conservation systems. Ecotex has achieved a Clean Green certification for our class leading environmental leadership.

Our Story

In 1959 Eldon and Ruth Bartsch opened Southgate Cleaners, a small local cleaning service. As a young couple they operated their small business while they raised their family of three children.

Their son Randy Bartsch joined the family business to help his parents and in 1974 expanded the company into a multi-location regional laundry service company. The company began serving its first healthcare customer in 1982. Fifteen years later, in 1997, Randy led the company to an exclusive focus on healthcare.

Bryan Bartsch, the eldest grandson, joined the family business in 2002 as the company was retooling and installing its first highly automated tunnel washing system. Bryan brought a strong work ethic and desire to improve the family business. His skills were a strong match and proved to be important during this new era of new automation and Healthcare centric focus.

As a father son team, Randy and Bryan have been highly effective together, growing the company into a multi-region business now serving hundreds of hospital locations.

In 2013 Bryan’s younger brother Brendon Bartsch joined the growing company. Brendon worked in many parts of the company to learn the business and fill open positions. His hand on approach and adaptability has allowed him to help support the company’s growth.
