Accessible Information
Ecotex is committed to providing the customers and clients with publicly available information in an accessible way upon request. We will also provide employees with disabilities with individualized emergency response information when necessary.
Training
Ecotex will provide training to employees, agency workers and other staff members, who work directly with the public on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of employees, agency workers and other staff members.
Ecotex has taken the following steps to ensure employees are provided with the training needed to meet Ontario’s accessible laws:
- Providing information to all staff regarding the AODA policy and where it can be located.
- Incorporating AODA training into new hire orientation
- Providing advanced online or in class training to our staff who deal directly with our customers and the public
Information and Communications
Ecotex is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.
Ecotex will review the financial and system requirement needed in 2019 to ensure that Ecotex take the proactive steps to make all websites and content conform with WCAG 2.0, Level AA by January 1, 2021.
Ecotex will take the following steps to make ensure existing feedback processes are accessible to people with disabilities upon request:
- In-person – Representatives from Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service LP can meet with individuals upon request (if practical)
- Phone – Feedback can be provided to Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services by contacting our offices
- Email – Emails are reviewed on a regular basis and responded to accordingly
- Mail – Mail is received on a daily basis and provided to the appropriate individual or department.
Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service LP will take the following steps to make sure all publicly available information is made accessible upon request by:
- Asking the individual for their preferred method to obtain the information
- Verbally communicating the information (if practical)
- Providing information in different formats (i.e. Larger fonts)
- Having the information available on the website.
Employment
Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service LP is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. When posting positions we will post that we are committed to equal opportunity employment and that would include people with disabilities. When individuals are contacted they will be asked during the pre-screen recruitment process if they require any accommodation and will accommodate the individual accordingly. Individuals who are successfully recruited will be provided orientation and training. This process will be adjusted on an as need basis to meet the needs of each individual requirement.
Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services works with the individual and their medical documentation and/or practioner to develop and put in place a process for developing individual accommodation plans and return-to-work policies for employees that have been absent due to a disability.
At Ecotex we encourage our employees to openly discuss any issues or concerns they may have. The management team will have the assistance and guidance of their senior managers and Human Resources department when dealing with performance management, career development and redeployment processes of an employee with a disability.
Design of Public Spaces
Ecotex will meet the Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces when building or making major modifications to public spaces. Public spaces include:
- Outdoor public eating areas like rest stops or picnic areas
- Outdoor paths of travel, like sidewalks, ramps, stairs, curb ramps, rest areas and accessible pedestrian signals
- Accessible off street parking
- Service-related elements like service counters, fixed queuing lines and waiting areas
In the event of a service disruption, we will notify the public of the service disruption and alternatives available.
